Genji Kimata is a fictional character from the Texhnolyze anime series. He is the leader of the Salvation Alliance, an organisation opposed to the use of Texhnolyzation.

Biography

Kimata later addresses his remaining men in preparation for battle against the Shapes. The ensuing battle is to be an affirmation of the ideals of the Salvation Alliance, one which will result in their spirit being “deeply etched into the souls of the citizens of Lux”. He goes on to formally confess his Texhnolyzation, pulling up his shirt to reveal the rotting flesh on his torso surrounding his Texhnolyzed arm: Texhnolyzation “erodes not only a man’s body, but also his soul”. He proceeds to give permission for his members to leave if they’re too discouraged to fight alongside him. But rather than leave, the Alliance’s remaining members begin to chant in solidarity with their leader.

The subsequent battle is brutal, a fight to the death for the Salvation Alliance. Keigo Oonishi meets with Kimata, but Kimata dismisses his advice to retreat: “this is a battle to show our spirit to our comrades in this city.” He’s determined to get to the opera house, Kano’s headquarters, even if he’s the last man standing. Kimata is eventually swarmed and killed by Shapes, but not before tearing a whole group of them apart with his bare hands. Even after the death of their leader, the Alliance refuse to retreat. They proceed to fight to their extinction, chanting “Soul! Body! Truth! Salvation! Vengeance!” as they make their final charge.
