TEXHNOPHILE is the third episode of the Texhnolyze anime series.

Synopsis[]
Ichise fades in and out of consciousness in Doc’s operating theater. Flashbacks of his past appear. He runs as a little boy with his mother. They find his father dead and hanging from the top of a scaffolding, surrounded by fellow workers. For the first time, the protagonist's name is said out loud in the show: when, a few weeks or months later, the protagonist's mother calls for Ichise, right before dying in the hospital. A small vial is prepared for Ichise, which contains some body tissue from his mother.
While on the train, Kazuho Yoshii asks a favor of Ran. He asks her not to tell whatever she sees of his future to anyone.
Ichise is shown to be on top of an operating table, inside an open body bag. While Doc prepares the mechanical parts, she is surprised to find Ichise gasping through the endotracheal tube.
A call comes in at Keigo Oonishi’s house. Mana, rather spaced out, does not answer it. But when Oonishi takes the call, the caller hangs up.
Ichise throws himself off of Doc's operating table and tries to drag himself out. Doc stops him by throwing his dead arm onto the floor. Ichise says Raffia is meaningless to him and demands to know where his vial is. She directs him to the table. The vial is empty.
Yoshii and Ran reach Lux and get off the train. They go their separate ways. Oonishi leaves the house. As he gets into the car, a man from the Salvation Alliance points a gun at him. Oonishi tells the man that Genji Kimata, their leader, is texhnolyzed. Even if he is a body fundamentalist, someone who is against Texhnolyzation, Kimata really wants Raffia. Oonishi then shoots the man several times, and also shoots another man who appears.
Doc explains to Ichise that he would not be able to pay for the Texhnolyze units she custom-made for him. She wanted to have more chemical interaction in her Texhnolyze, which regular types do not have. Thus, she included the vial’s cells into Ichise’s Texhnolyze unit, as a part of the biocircuit, making the unit a living thing.
Ichise raises himself up and says he does not need mechanical parts. Oonishi arrives and knocks Ichise out with his sword, rendering him unconscious. Doc protests, but Oonishi reminds her that if he had been more merciful, she would not have Ichise.
